Trip to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer

Location: Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, Rajasthan


The students of Grade S1 to S7 embarked on an unforgettable educational excursion to the historic cities of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, located in the enchanting state of Rajasthan. This trip aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage and history of the region.


Day 1: Arrival in Jodhpur and Visit to Umaid Bhawan Palace and Local Bazaars


Upon arrival in Jodhpur, the students were welcomed with traditional Rajasthani hospitality. They checked into their accommodations and enjoyed a Rajasthani dinner, immersing themselves in the local cuisine with a guided tour of Umaid Bhawan Palace, a symbol of royal opulence. Students learned about the royal heritage and history of the palace. In the afternoon, they had the chance to explore the bustling local bazaars, indulging in shopping for souvenirs and experiencing the local culture.


Day 2:  Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada


The highlight of the trip was  visit to Mehrangarh Fort, a colossal structure that left everyone in awe. Students learned about the history and architecture of the fort and were treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the “Blue City” from its ramparts.  This was followed by a visit to Jaswant Thada, a stunning marble cenotaph.


Day 3: Journey to Jaisalmer

Travelers departed for the golden city of Jaisalmer, a long drive through the arid landscapes of Rajasthan. En route, they stopped at famous landmarks and enjoyed traditional Rajasthani cuisine at a local restaurant and had the camel safari in evening.


Day 4: Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon Ki Haveli, Lake and Desert Safari


The highlight of Jaisalmer was the visit to the majestic Jaisalmer Fort. Students explored the narrow alleys, intricate architecture, and learned about the history of the fort along with a visit to Patwon Ki Haweli. In the afternoon, they ventured into the Thar Desert for a thrilling desert safari, experiencing the enchanting sand dunes and enjoying a mesmerizing sunset.


Day 5: War Memorial and Departure


Our last day in Jaisalmer included a visit to War Memorial. Afterward, everyone bid farewell to Jaisalmer and headed back to Faridabad.


Conclusion:


The school trip to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer was an educational and culturally enriching experience for all participants. It provided students with insights into the history, architecture, and traditions of Rajasthan, fostering a sense of appreciation for country’s diverse heritage.Students  look forward to more such enriching experiences in the future.
