The Modern School Faridabad teaching methodlogy

Teaching Methodology

The school focuses on holistic development of a child, for which it employs various innovative teaching methodologies and strategies. The range of views on a subject is explored through debates, which develop critical thinking skill in a child. Quizzes, puzzles and extempore are conducted to evaluate the students’ understanding and to improvise the instructional methods. Spell Bee is conducted each month for both English and Hindi alternatively for reiteration of spelling and for enhancing the vocabulary. Field trips are organised to places which have a significant relation with the subjects, making the learning process all the more interesting. Audio-visual aids are also incorporated in the form of incidental learning where a powerpoint presentation is run throughout the month on the smartboards. This helps in both active and passive learning. Experiential learning is preferred, wherein the students experience, communicate and learn about the concepts. A word wall is also created in each classroom which aids as a vocabulary bank for the students. The students and teachers add a new word with its meaning to it everyday. Role plays, Recitation and Nukkadnataks are held to enhance the learning process.

The Modern School Faridabad Co Curricular Activities

Co-Curricular Activities

Education is a broad term that surpasses the four walls of a classroom. The core aim of education is to foster all round development. To fulfil this objective, there is a prime need of striking a balance between syllabus, curriculum, books and co – curricular activities.
A co – curricular activity takes place outside a pen and paper classroom experience. It gives the students an opportunity to develop a particular skill and exhibit their non-academic abilities.
A Chinese proverb states, “Teach me and I will forget, Show me and I will forget, Involve me and I will remember. To a very great extent, theoretical knowledge is enhanced when a concept related activity is taught. The various co – curricular activities offered at the school are Art, Dance, Music (Indian and Western), Theatre and Sports.
We offer various clubs which are part of regular timetable and aid in grooming a child into a confident individual.
Playing Sports helps students strengthening their immune system, maintaining physical coordination, enhancing body strength, sharp and active with improved concentration. We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of Sports like Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Cricket, Taekwondo, Lawn Tennis, Skating, Chess, Badminton, Yoga etc.

The Modern School Faridabad Creativity And Innovation

Creativity & Innovation

Creativity and innovation is the essence of teaching and learning including in the social sciences discipline. Creativity and innovation bring about interest and motivation to learners, which eventually lead to learning. Gone are the days of a teacher delivering a lecture while standing behind a rostrum in a classroom in a one-way communication mode where his/ her words are words of God and students sit quietly embracing his/her words, busy taking down notes; those days have been replaced with more innovative and creative ways of disseminating, sharing and facilitating knowledge development in students. Our students are tired of the old school approach to learning a language – they want something practical, relevant and useful for their professional life. With computer being their flesh and blood; and living in the era where they are allowed to question on things and they are empowered to be partly responsible for their learning, creativity and innovation have been incorporated in my teaching and learning, assessment and supervision.
