A workshop about Robotics and AI was conducted by team Meritus in the school for students of grades 1st to 8th. To generate maximum interest and participation during the session the students were sent in different slots as per grades.

Grades 1 and 2- Algorithms with Baloo Bear

The children explored the meaning of algorithms through a story telling approach. They understood about writing and identifying simple algorithms for day to day activities. 

Grades 3 and 4- Simple machines- Classes of Levers

The session gave the children a basic idea of a lever and its 3 different classification on the basis of position of fulcrum, effort and load. 

Grade 5- Hello AI

The session was an introduction to the actual meaning of Artificial Intelligence and its basic ideas. The students also learnt about computer vision with the help of demonstrations. 

Grades 6, 7 and 8- Robots and Self Driving Cars

The session was about the different features of a robot such as edge detection, line following, obstacle detection and camera vision. It was explained to the students with the help of visual demonstrations by self driving cars. The session ended by introducing the students to Robotics kits so they can learn to bring their own unique ideas to reality.
