It was a great experience visiting IIT Delhi on 26 August for the workshop on the topic ‘Mechanics of cricket’. The workshop was organized in LHC-213 of IIT Delhi. Prof. Gaurav Singh started the session with a very interesting topic among students ‘Cricket’. We all are somehow interested in cricket as it’s now a global game and even there is an emotional connect with it. But the Physics behind that is way more interesting. Prof. Gaurav singh explained the mechanics of ball manufacturing along with the formation of bat and its dimensional factors which affect the game. The workshop further became more interesting for the students when Prof. Gaurav Singh started talking about the mechanics of real game. Each and every factor of playing cricket was elaborated in terms of mechanics. The curiosity among the students was immense and they asked many questions based on cricket. All students enjoyed the session and the workshop seeded many interesting questions and ideas not just about cricket but about its mechanics.
