The Modern School, Greater Faridabad organized the Nilgiris House Function on Friday, May 26, 2023, on the theme KRANTI JYOTI-SAVITRI BAI PHULE. The theme for the event was the life and struggles of Savitri Bai Phule.  The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Manoj Mittal, Block Education Officer, Faridabad. Ms. Meera Malhotra, Academic Coordinator, Board of Trustees, Modern School graced the event with her presence and Dr. Umesh Kumar Chhikara, Principal, The Modern School, Greater Faridabad, chaired the function. 

The function commenced with the invocation of the divine power by lighting lamp and Ms. Savita Takyar, House Mistress, Nilgiris House introduced the theme for the House function. School Principal Dr. Umesh Kumar Chhikara welcomed the guests and formally initiated the event. He enlightened the parents about the introducing leaders like Savitri Bai to students as they imbibe the characteristics exhibited in themselves.   

The students of Nilgiris House presented a spectacular show enacting and bringing to life the obstacles, oppositions, and struggles of Savitri Bai which left the audience spellbound. The highlights of the event were the marriage scene, Savitri Bai’s commitment to education, and the street scene where she was disgraced and spectators had goosebumps. The show was loved by everyone. The life of Savitri Bai Phule inspired people to value human life and eradicate any kind of discrimination among human beings. She has been a warrior for education and social change and her life is an inspiration for generations to come.
