Co-Curriculum

This enables the students to explore their creative side, build a sense of curiosity and have fun as they uncover their own potential.

“Co-curricular and play is the way kids try the world on for size and imagine their place in it.” The Modern School Faridabad goes a step ahead from the traditional convention of bookish knowledge and promotes a holistic development of its student’s personalities through extra-curricular activities. We have a diverse range of co-curricular activities to give all our students an opportunity to broaden their interests, nurture creativity and cultivate new passions. A diverse set of avenues are at mordenite’s disposal, such as in fields of sports and trained skills like (painting, coding, dancing/singing and science extempore), in terms of personal growth and expression via debating, speech competitions, story writing and in the social services category such as tree plantation drives, cleanliness drives, teaching voluntarism etc. This enables the students to explore their creative side, build a sense of curiosity and have fun as they uncover their own potential.

In one activity a child might find herself to be playing a leader’s role while on the other hand she might be cheering and encouraging one of her friends to showcase the best version of them on stage!

When a child gathers courage to go up on stage in front of a large audience staring at him/her, or when the teacher shows faith in a student and selects her to represent the class/school in a particular competition, this feeling fills a child with confidence and self-esteem. He/she gradually learns the techniques like (making eye contact, fluent communication etc.) to make her presentation of the talent impactful enough in order to woo the spectators. The Modern School Faridabad provides opportunities like house-meet systems, assemblies, school clubs etc. to sharpen these aspects of a child’s education. Regular competitions are held at intra-inter school/state/national/international levels to provide adequate exposure to students.

A child’s relationship with self, his/her peers also transforms once they start engaging in such activities. They start identifying their interests, strengths and weaknesses to be worked upon. The friendship bonds also get more compassionate while working in teams, performing tasks in synchronization with other members and much more. In one activity a child might find herself to be playing a leader’s role while on the other hand she might be cheering and encouraging one of her friends to showcase the best version of them on stage! Along with these comes the beautiful memories of victories and bringing back home the trophies or losses (learnings would be a better word), shared with friends while wearing the modern school logo to you heart!

The result of all these avenues also can’t be ignored in terms of knowledge gained. After a challenging inter-school debate competition for example, the grasp on a specific theme gets very strong in terms of understanding and better comprehension. Taking part in a state level science hackathon event exposes a child to future career prospects towards IT fields and many such instances can be corroborated.

All these also have long term returns to a child’s growth and career prospects as well. Many times a University admissions panel asks for a child’s achievements beyond the graded marksheets. The statement of purpose (SOPs) for applying to prestigious institutions abroad also carry weightage for co-curricular participation. This is the time when a student’s personality brimming with confidence and self-belief that was practiced throughout the school life beyond the 4 walled classroom speaks for itself!
