On the 17th of February, The Modern School celebrated its second Annual Sports Day – ‘Rise and Shine’ a day filled with fervour and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. The Chief Guest for the day was the Army General Bhopinder Singh, VSM and PVSM. The day started with the Inter-House March Past, a highly competitive event where the three houses eyed for the first place. The audience next witnessed various displays symbolizing alternative sources of energy. The displays made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof. Another highlight of the day was the lighting of the Torch which was carried by Parth Nikhil, our State Cricket Player, Ojus Gulati, a budding cricketer, Anjali Tewatia, Shubh Gautam and Vaishnavi Puja Gautam, the school Taekwondo champions. All impressive perfomances given by the students kept the audience enthralled. At the end of the day, students departed with a clear smile on their faces as the Kanchenjunga House emerged as The Best House, Nilgiris House bagged the Best March Trophy and the Best Athelete Trophy – Boy and Girl were bagged by Krishnav Gualti and Saina Nair respectively. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The Headmistress, Ms. Neetu Blest thanked all the teachers and parents for their cooperation and support and advised children to keep up their sportsman spirit.
