World Nutrition Week

Nutrition is not just about eating; it's about learning to live.

A balanced diet is essential for our body to receive good nutrition, keep our immunity and fight infections.

National Nutrition Week is observed from September 1 to September 7 annually in India. The theme of the 2021 National Nutrition Week is 'feeding smart right from start'. The week is observed to raise awareness about nutritional and adaptive eating habits.


The Modern school celebrated Nutrition week from September 1 to September 7, to raise public awareness about nutrition and healthy eating habits. 

To inculcate the benefits of eating seasonal fruits and enhance the appearance and the flavour of the food, the Fruit Art Activity was conducted in Kindergarten. There were many fruits that could be used in this process and the most popular ones are watermelons, apples, strawberries, pineapples, and oranges. Students used different types of fruits; put them together and created pictures like flowers, trees and many more. They showed the real fruits one by one and shared the facts about each one of them as well.


Reading Nutritional Information mentioned on the packaged food product activity was conducted to guide them how the label shows us some key nutrients of the product we pick from the supermarket and what is its impact on our health. Kids were advised to use the label to support their personal dietary needs – look for foods that contain more of the nutrients which they want to get more and less of the nutrients they may want to limit.

Kids learnt that they need to opt for less of: Saturated Fat, Sodium, and Added Sugars.

It was a great learning and an eye-opening session for them. They have learnt how much of a daily need of each nutrient they can get by eating a specific food.
