The tenth day after Navaratri is celebrated as Dussehra . The festival marks the victory of good over the evil. Lord Rama had killed Raavan and liberated his wife Sita from his captivity. We burn effigies of the demon King Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath, who were vanquished by Lord Ram.
A special assembly was conducted by the students of Grades Nursery , Kindergarten and Nilgiris House highlighting the significance of the festival.
The assembly began with the pious Gayatri Mantra and was followed by a medley of ‘Chopaii” from Shri Ram Charitra Manas gleefully sung by the students. The students were dressed in traditional Indian attire and very enthusiastically presented their thoughts in the form of dance performances and poems. While there was a heart-warming rendition of a short scene from the Valmiki’s life by the students of Nilgiris House, the scene of Lord Rama killing the demon and freeing Sita from his captivation , depicted by the students of Grade Nursery was a treat to the eyes. This celebration was further followed by Dandiya night organised by Pre Primary Wing which saw an enthusiastic participation by the parents and students. Though virtual yet it was enjoyed to the fullest.
The assembly concluded with a closing note of Nilgiris House Mistress, appreciating the efforts of the students and reiterating the essence of the festival which is the victory of the virtuous over the vicious.
