Freedom in the Mind, Faith in the Words, Pride in our
Souls
Let’s salute the nation
on this auspicious day.
Independence Day was
celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on August 12, 2021 to
mark the 75th year of freedom from the British rule. The programme started with
flag hoisting by the Chief Guest Dr. Vinay Gupta, Civil Surgeon, Faridabad. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Sushil
Ahlawat, Mr. Saransh Gupta and Ms. Rachita Gupta from the trust were present
for the ceremony. Among other dignitaries present
virtually were Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh, Senior Member, Board of Trustees, Modern
School, Ms. Mira Pradeep Singh, ChairPerson,
The Modern School, Faridabad, Ms. Ambika Pant, Honorary Secretary, Board of
Trustees, Modern School, Ms. Abha Sadana, Principal, The Modern School, Kundli
and Ms. Priyanka Kharbanda, HM, Modern Early Years, Deepali.
The Principal formally
welcomed all the dignitaries and addressed the gathering appealing to their
nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian and
fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility.
The Chief Guest
commended the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and urged everyone to strive
to be worthy of the freedom we got because of those sacrifices. He also
reiterated that unless we follow covid appropriate behaviour, we will not be
able to survive the third wave of the pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion,
Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh, Senior Member, Board of Trustees emphasized on concept
of happiness. He urged the parents and the teachers to support children and
ensure that they remain happy. He iterated that real happiness comes with doing
things for others selflessly. Referring to the reopening of schools, he
remarked that though coming together and being together would generate a lot of
happiness, it has to be done very wisely in the current pandemic situation. He
lauded the efforts of the teachers who made learning online worthwhile. He
congratulated the Principal, staff, students and the parents for doing their
best in spite of the odds.
This was followed by a
heart wrenching, inspiring dance drama titled “San Sattavan ki Goonj’ that
showcased the magnificent life of the brave Rani of Jhansi- Rani Lakshmi Bai.
It was an excellent blend of a gamut of human emotions and qualities- bravery,
melancholy, exhilaration, patience, pride, patriotism and dedication. It
invigorated the audience in the beginning and left them spell bound towards the
end. The musical rendition by the school choir awakened everyone’s feelings
towards the motherland.
Indeed, it was a day of
joy, a day to pledge love and respect towards our country and make it a better
place for all to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
